Meant for All Women

WHAT & WHY
Expressions of Color + Beauty is an inspired by the vibrancy of Spring shades we see, the color nuances we discover in natural details and in our own self expressions. Color influences our perception of the world around us and the radiance within us.
This is a celebration for all women, created by women. It honors the confident, ageless woman approaching her second act. It celebrates the fatigued mother needing a break. It thanks the mentors. It empowers those struggling physically and mentally through the changes of menopause. It's an opportunity for all of us to pause from the outside chaos and receive a curated gift of "set apart" time.
Expressions of Color + Beauty's purposeful atmosphere invites comfort, intimacy, and personal attention. It is hosted at a private penthouse suite boasting style and natural light. The wrap around deck overlooking Seattle's Westlake neighborhood allows the warmth of the sun, and private vignettes for conversation and creating.

NATURE'S COLOR + BEAUTY
- INSPIRED WATERCOLOR -
Color is one of nature’s most sophisticated tools designed to capture the attention of our surrounding world.. At this experience, we'll observe color and beauty found in Spring's floral offerings. During your 30 minute workshop, you'll focus on honing perception and using color to translate beauty on the page. Using watercolors participants will explore hidden hues and nuance. No previous experience is necessary—this isn’t botanical illustration so much as an exercise in mindfulness and seeing with fresh eyes.

leave with a take-home project to continue color study
and finish art. You'll also take home your Spring floral muse.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
LORENE EDWARDS FORKNER | HANDMADE IN THE GARDEN

Like many of us with dirty nails and decidedly non-fashion-forward tan lines, my garden journey has been circuitous. In the mid 90s, my passionate love of plants led to owning and operating a small specialty nursery. There I discovered a community of like-minded souls for whom every flower, bulb, grass, and twig was a constant source of wonder and possibility. I also spent several years working in garden design helping others, like me, who needed to organize their growing collections into pleasing spaces.
These days, my work has more to do with tending gardeners—encouraging collaboration with natural systems and respect for the precious wildness all around us. More than just a seasonal pasttime, our gardens provide a creative outlet, personal respite, a connection with nature, and foster more livable communities
Nearly every week my stories appear in the GROW column in The Seattle Times where I explore the gardens and gardeners of the Pacific Northwest.
I am the author of several books, and am over the moon excited about my latest, Color In and Out of The Garden, coming in spring 2022 from Abrams.
SUZI BUTLER | THE COLOR COACH

Suzie Butler is a wife, mom of three, and the founder of The Color Coach, a personal color analysis business based in Kitsap County, Washington. With a background in Communications and years of balancing family life, Suzie hit a milestone birthday and felt the pull to do something just for herself. That’s when she discovered the transformative power of seasonal color analysis — and everything changed.Today, she helps women reconnect with their natural beauty and confidence by using color as a tool for self-expression. Whether it’s discovering their perfect pink or learning which shades bring out their inner glow, Suzie empowers women to feel vibrant, seen, and confident at every stage of life.
She has been featured on New Day NW and partners with brands like Armoire to bring expert color guidance to everyday women ready for a fresh start. Her message is simple: color isn’t just about what you wear — it’s about rediscovering your glow.

Meg’s inspirational leadership style is the result of a truly unique combination of pragmatic business skills and the heart and soul of an artist. Her design for Vermouth’s lip crayons was sparked by a recollection of the Renaissance art tools she used during her Watson Fellowship, apprenticed to a fresco painter in Italy. Over her career she has built financial models and advised major corporations as a business consultant, as well as developing products and overseeing production at a small beauty company.Meg’s sense of purpose comes from being an active member of her community – whether advocating in the public schools or volunteering as a hockey coach.
It was inevitable that when Meg and Jill met they would cook up something exciting – and that’s just what happened when they met over a glass of Vermouth.Meg’s go-to flight is usually BFF, using either BFF Monday or Tuesday as a base (depending if she wants a bolder or quiet look) and blending colors from the rest of the week in to get just the right look – for her, it’s the lipstick wardrobe that suits her best.
MEG DIAZ | VERMOUTH BEAUTY
With a passion for making the world a better place and 25 years of strategic communications experience, Jill was made to lead marketing efforts for a company that wants to liberate individual beauty.Sophisticated, active and vibrant, Jill is the Vermouth woman. Women who love long hikes in the wilderness, women who like to explore without a map, or busy moms rushing from work to family obligations while thinking about how to get dinner on the table – Jill has been and still is all of these women. She wants beauty products that both nourish women’s bodies and are good for the planet. She believes in honest, transparent communications and making sure that Vermouth walks our talk.
